Getting started with Place & Play

1. CONFIGURE
------------
.. note::
 If your Place & Play device is not responding, however, this may mean that the battery has been depleted. About 20 minutes of charge time via the enclosed USB cable should do the trick.

The Visionect Configurator for mobile app is available for iOS and Android.

Search for Visionect Configurator in Google Play Store/App Store or scan the QR code below with your Android/Apple smartphone.

To download the application you can also scan the QR code below:

**Enter the details of your Wi-Fi connection** into the Visionect Configurator. Type in the name of your Wi-Fi or scan for existing networks, and then select your encryption type.

 * Open networks: The device will connect automatically.
 * Encrypted networks (WPA2-PSK): Enter the password of your wireless network.
 * Enterprise security networks (WPA2-EAP): Enter the password of your wireless network. Next, enter the RADIUS username and password and upload the necessary certificates.

Please note that the Wi-Fi password is limited to 31 characters only.

Next, **enter the address of the server on which your device is to run.** Your IP address will be obtained automatically.

To use the device with Place & Play CMS enter the following server address **cms-1.dk.visionect.com**.

By clicking **‘Apply’**, your Place & Play device will connect. :ref:`Find out more about the advanced options of the Visionect Configurator here <configure_by_cli>`.

2. CREATE
---------

Once your device has been successfully configured for the Place & Play CMS it will show a PIN code. It may take up to 15 minutes for the code to show up after successful configuration. You can now start creating by following the :ref:`CMS Quick Start`. The full guide is available `here <https://docs.visionect.com/PlaceAndPlayCMS/index.html>`_.

Alternatively, you can integrate your interactive apps or a 3rd party CMS with the `Visionect Software Suite <https://docs.visionect.com/VisionectSoftwareSuite/index.html>`_, our device management and content delivery platform. The VSS is in charge of all the operational aspects of running electronic paper signage and requires a more technical approach than the Place & Play CMS. Follow `these instructions <https://docs.visionect.com/VisionectSoftwareSuite/ManagementInterface.html>`_ to use it.
