Visionect 6” and 9.7” Signs (second generation)

The Visionect 6” and 9.7” esecond generation Signs are finished (enclosed) electronic paper products that support Wi-Fi.

The currently available device variants are:

  • Visionect 6” Sign: capacitive touch supported, 5000/5400 mAh battery
  • Visionect 9.7” Sign: without touch, 10200 mAh battery

Visionect Signs used to be known as V-Tablets.

Configuring Visionect Signs

Visionect 6” and 9.7” Signs are configured using a regular Micro USB cable and the Visionect Configurator. Download the app, connect the cable and follow the instructions.

Connectivity

Visionect 6” and 9.7” Signs use standards-based certified WiFi 2.4GHz IEEE 802.11 B/G/N modules with WPA2-PSK encryption. The modules are configured to use WMM-Power Save features on access points that support the functionality.

Warning

The Wi-Fi network quality will critically determine Sign performance and stability. Every device relies on good Wi-Fi connectivity, so a noisy environment with a lot of clients running on low quality access points will cause problems.

The quality and configuration of the Wi-Fi access points also plays an important role when determining battery life and the device autonomy of a device in standby, but still connected. Find out more about power consumption, battery life and optimizations here.
